Here are real testimonials for Dr. Glenn and ART® :

Beth Bean and family (husband not shown)
A few years ago I suffered a lower leg injury from running that resulted in much
pain and frustration. After not being able to run for a few weeks, I visited numerous
doctors who all told me the last thing any runner wants to hear "just stop
running for 6 months". Since "not running" wasn't an option, I next visited two different physical therapists. Each time I was told 1) that they found nothing
wrong with me 2) there was nothing they could do for me since they couldn't find
anything wrong with me!
Then one day I was reading an article in Sports Illustrated for Women that talked
about the healing power of ART®, which led me to Dr. Glenn Hyman's Office. From my
first visit, Glenn was professional, honest, knowledgeable, and he told me there
was no way I would have to stop running! After two treatments I was running again
with little pain. After a few more treatments I was running a lot with no pain.
Now anytime I feel something coming on, I meet with Glenn and he gets my body back
on track. He has healed a troubled IT band, my hip flexors, and the original stress
fracture in my fibula. Since finding Glenn I have successfully completed a marathon,
numerous half marathons and a half-Ironman - all pain/injury free! Thank you Glenn!

Kevin Rysz, a guy who isn't afraid to get hurt while having fun
I'm not sure which story about Dr. Glenn I like to tell most when I meet people
with sports related injuries. I could tell them how he helped me with my shoulder
dislocations after surgery, or how he got me off crutches faster than I ever expected
when I sprained my ankle. Or maybe it's the story about how he erased the pain in
my neck that was chronic for years. Those successes might come up, but I usually
keep it simple and just tell everyone how when I seriously strained my quad, I thought
I'd miss about 2 weeks of mountain biking. I limped into his office worried and
bummed, and walked out feeling good and feeling relieved. I rode the next day. I
refer friends and co-workers, and Dr. Glenn always fixes them up.

Jessica Taylor, owner of Serenity Now! Massage Therapy
If you're looking for a chiropractor, I highly recommend Dr. Glenn Hyman. I am
consistently impressed with his ability to fix painful soft tissue injuries with
just a few visits. His no-nonsense approach is a refreshing change is today's healthcare
environment. As a massage therapist for over 10 years, I know that I can refer clients
to him and he'll help them without wasting time and without dragging out their treatment.
He's an honest guy who likes helping people.

Thomas Lanier taming a kettlebell
Everyone has aches and pains in life, and I have more than some. My motto has
always been Carpe Diem, and I have taken the physical interpretation of this saying
to heart. I have been involved with competitive horseback riding, skiing, mountain
biking, climbing, and hiking, as well as weightlifting and martial arts. My body
has done its best over the years to keep up with my ambitious mind, but my army
of aches and pains began to slow me down.
Of course, one can only go so far without dealing with such issues; the sooner
they are addressed, the better the outcome. If you wait until you are thirsty to
drink, you are already dehydrated. Likewise, utilizing body healing techniques early
on will yield a better performing body.
There are as many opinions and approaches to body healing and maintenance as there
are aches and pains. Even when one considers only those practices which are proactive
and organic, the list is still long. I have tried many of them, and I can tell you
they are by no means equal. And, in many cases, subtle differences can make the
difference between futile and functional.
I have tried Chiropractics, Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, and Active Release Technique®. Chiropractic care gave me instant relief, but never addressed the underlying
problems; the vertebrae were moved away from irritated nerves, but the tight muscles
around the bones just pulled them right back. And of course, only my back was treated
with this approach, not my knees or my shoulder.
Massage and Trigger Point Therapy addressed the sore muscles and tissues ignored
by Chiropractic, but did nothing to relieve the irritated nerves which Chiropractic
helped. But like Chiropractic, the condition would go right back to the previous
state and tight and painful tissues became chronic; nothing was really released.
Active Release Technique® addresses both nerve irritation as well as the tight
and painful associated tissues. It is not limited to the spine, but can address
all the musculoskeletal areas of the body. Most importantly, an actual release of
the muscle is achieved, promoting healing of the affected tissues, and restoring
range of motion in the joint.
The main point here is that subtle differences in technique do make a difference
in the outcome of the treatment. Not all approaches are the same, and some are vastly
more effective than others in my personal experience. I have found Active Release Technique® to be the most effective approach in keeping my body happy and performing
well. The subtle application of pressure upon the tissues coupled with the simultaneous
manipulation of the affected joint, produce effective and sustained healing.
However, there is more to consider here than just the technique itself; the practitioner
is as important as the practice. Not only have I tried quite a few techniques, more
than mentioned here, but I have tried more than a few practitioners. I have found
that there are several key attributes that make a person most effective in healing.
Specifically, the particular discipline being practiced, an understanding of other
disciplines, the ability to empathize and listen, and the right touch are the most
important. Some of these can be learned, and some are gifts.
Glenn Hyman has these qualities. As a certified chiropractor, he understands the
intricacies of the spinal nervous system. As a certified Active Release® practitioner,
he understands how to treat tissues and joints, and to promote healing and restored
function. Glenn knows how to find the problem, and he knows what to do about it.
I appreciate the care and discretion Glenn uses most of all. He has struck me
as one of the most ethical doctors I have had the pleasure of seeing. He has never
been pushy, nor is he apathetic. He is not a salesman, and he does not bash other
people or ideas. He uses force when necessary, but not to excess. In short, Glenn
gets the job done, and his work speaks for itself.

Wrestler, Kick Boxer, Monster Truck Diver, and model: Nikita Lefleur
I'm a former WWE professional wrestler. After wrestling for over 9 years, I got
hurt and had hip surgery. My healing process started back in Minnesota. I went through
a lot of different forms of physical therapy. Every time I thought I was fully recovered,
I would have a terrible set back. Not only was it frustrating, but I was constantly
in pain. I thought this might be something that I would live with the rest of my
life.
When I moved back to Colorado, everything came to a dead stop. I was in so much
pain that I couldn't even put on my pants. I knew I had to see someone but didn't
know who to turn to. I had gone through so many doctors, different forms of therapy,
and massage. I was tired of the set backs and didn't want to pay money to have it
not work.
I found Dr. Glenn. He not only got me a speedy recovery but I have not had any
problems since. This is the longest I have been able to go without pain. I appreciate
Dr. Glenn and his wonderful neighbors, Serenity Now Massage, for getting me back
on track.
Now I can wrestle at 100%, and I'm back to my other activities. I enjoy kickboxing,
wrestling, training in the gym, and now Monster Truck driving! As you can tell I
live a crazy lifestyle and an active one. These are all activities that are hard
on the body and Dr. Glenn was the one to help me get back to them. If I have any
further injuries (knock on wood), I definitely know who I will be going back to.
Thank you, Dr. Glenn!

Craig Snyder protecting his workforce
In my 16 years of safety work, I've never seen a better program than ART® for rapidly
and effectively reducing work-related soft tissue injuries. Dr. Glenn Hyman is our
ART® provider, hand-picked by Dr. Leahy for our program.
Thanks to our on-site implementation of ART® by Dr. Glenn, our OSHA recordable
injury rate is 66% lower than it was last year at this time, with similar reductions
in our worker's compensation costs.
We've had ergonomics and workplace stretching programs in place at our facility
for over a decade, but ART® was the missing piece for effectively preventing and
correcting strains and sprains before they need medical treatment.
Our employees and management absolutely love Dr. Glenn and this program. It's
driving down costs, getting workers back to work faster, and keeping them happier.
I have never given a testimonial for a product or service before, but this was a
joy to give. Dr. Glenn & ART® truly help our workers and they greatly appreciate
it. There is nothing better than having the president of your company recognize
you for a job well done. Thank you Dr. Glenn! Thank you ART®!

Rob with his kids, and a new respect for gravity
September 2003... 20 feet in the air going about 50mph. It seemed like a good
idea.
Since I did not stick the landing, my return to earth didn't workout so well.
My shattered foot: 4 broken bones, 5 hours of surgery, pins, plates and 3 months
in a wheelchair (none weight bearing), not to mention a doctor with a grim look
and "You've destroyed your foot". He was not optimistic about my future.
I wasn't willing to accept his outlook. When 3 months were up, I got the chance
to test my foot. It was a stump. I spent the the next 3 months in passive therapy
and with talk of orthotics and fusion surgeries. I would not describe myself as
enthusiastic.
Along comes a referral for Dr. Glenn Hyman. 6 months had past since the accident,
the muscles in my foot and ankle were very weak and there was a lot of scar tissue.
Glenn's first words were: "Your foot is like cement." There was almost
no flexibility or movement. My request for the future was to recover 95% of my normal
foot-use, I was sitting in his office with about 25%. Seriously, my foot was a stump
For the next few months I visited Glenn, and he worked hard. At home I did the
stretching and strengthening that he told me to. When I left his office November
2004 on our last visit we agreed I was at about 90%. I could walk on trails ride
my bike without much limitation. Now in November 2005 (as I write this), I can tell
you I have reached 95%! I have just about no limitations. I run, hike, I play with
my kids with little or no pain.
I know for a fact I would not have this privilege and this second chance if it
were not for Glenn. He has also helped me with back, shoulder and neck problems.
Did I mention Motocross and Supercross can take a toll on your body? I raced as
a professional for several years and my visions of a more youthful time clouded
my perception of reality on that September day in 2003. At 43 years old I'm lucky
to be alive let alone walking. Glenn's work is expert and specific. He is very knowledgeable
and enthusiastic about what he has to offer. I hope you have the same good fortune
as I did (and still do).
Glenn: Thank You!!!

P.S. Special Thanks to my wife and family for there love, patience and understanding.

One of these photos is the real Rob Siders
In late February of 2004, I was having a pretty good day at the gym. I was finished
with my workout and my wife asked me to give her a spot.
I do not remember what the exercise was or even what I was doing when it happened.
What is "it"? Whatever it was I did to my lower back, that's what. It
was a specific pain in the lower right side of my back, just above my butt, that
only felt as if I strained something small enough to be merely inconvenient.
Like many people, I tried not to think about it... except when it hurt (which
would eventually become most of the time). I figured it would go away with a little
heat and rest.
For the most part, I am what you would consider a "weekend warrior".
I am a pretty active guy, but I don't participate in any kind of organized sports.
It was not as if my back was going to keep me from competing.
So I let whatever I had done go untreated, toughing it out as much as I could.
I even continued to perform squats at the gym.
(Okay, I used the hack squat sled, but I still loaded it up pretty heavy. I made
sure to stretch before and after the exercise and usually — at least during the
day — I was comfortable.)
My mornings and nights were a different story.
Can you try to imagine the stiffest, sorest muscle you have ever felt anywhere
on your body? Good. Now multiply it by about a hundred. Take that number and add
about seven more zeroes.
That is what it was like for me nearly every night, starting at about two in the
morning.
Most times I was awakened by my back in so much pain I was in full-on, cry-like-a-baby
tears. At two hundred and forty pounds, I like to consider myself a masculine man.
To be reduced to tears while trying to roll over in bed must have meant that what
I was feeling was serious. Very serious.
The image of me trying to accomplish the feat must have been something to see.
Because I tend to sleep on my stomach, "The Maneuver," as I called it,
consisted of three separate moves.
First I would roll myself to my side. That took what seemed to be five minutes.
Then, with the strength I had left, I would push up on my bottom elbow and foot,
trying to make myself airborne. (I wished I could levitate — it would have made
this rolling over thing easier.)
Lastly, once I was suspended, I would rotate through and onto my back. At this
point I breathed hard and waited for the stabbing pain in my back to subside. Sometimes
I got lucky and it would reduce to a dull throb. Usually, I found as much pain in
this position as I did in the last one.
Getting out of bed required yet another gymnastic feat. Using the core muscles
— not the abs, mind you — is a delicate proposition when your back is under full
attack from pain. I completed this trick by swinging my legs to the side and using
momentum to pop myself up and onto the floor. Nadia Comaneci, I am not.
After struggling with the full seven stages of acceptance for several weeks, I
decided it was time to do something about this pain in my back. I needed to seek
chiropractic help.
This was a big step. My only experience with chiropractic was what I had seen
on television: let's just say it wasn't exactly positive.
But the thought of seeing a medical doctor was even more frightening. The last
thing I wanted was back surgery, and that very thing is what most people seem to
get when they see a medical doctor about their back. Thanks, but no thanks.
Being the curious guy that I am — who was, frankly, being egged on by a dutiful
and frustrated wife — I looked into local chiropractors.
I even contacted one who published a coupon in a Denver coupon book... that idea
seemed bad right from the get-go. So I dug some more and stumbled across the Active
Release Technique Web site. I was intrigued. That the protocol's inventor — Dr.
P. Michael Leahy — was heavily involved with the Iron Man triathlon competition
made it more attractive. Numerous testimonials from professional athletes — guys
I watch on television — also helped.
Using the provider locator tool at the site, I searched for chiropractors in Denver.
The list was plentiful and I researched each one.
That's when I found Dr. Glenn Hyman. I searched for his Web site and continued
to read more about ART®. The more I did the more I was convinced that Active Release Technique® could help me. I browsed Glenn's Web site and I was convinced. Not only
did he specialize in Active Release Technique®, he was like me: another hard working
guy who valued his fitness. I knew he would understand when I told him "I want to
get back into the gym as soon as possible."
Further, I was impressed with Glenn's honesty. So many other chiropractors give
"free" visits. Glenn doesn't do that. His singular focus is getting you
healthy and back to your life. I was hooked and made the appointment.
I did not know what to expect from my first visit. Glenn stretched and turned
me gently, but effectively, while applying specific pressure to my back. It was
the first step to breaking up scar tissue that was impinging my back and causing
the pain.
I was shocked when he said he could get me back in the gym after three more sessions.
He wasn't kidding. Three sessions later I was pain free and a regular at my gym
again.
I cannot begin to adequately describe how effective Active Release Technique® is
at getting to the root of what hurts you, treating it and then getting you back
to whatever it is you do... whether it's competitive sports, outdoor sports, general
fitness, puttering around the garage, or just keeping up with your kids and family.
I recommend Dr. Glenn Hyman to everyone I know who needs chiropractic care.
~ Rob Siders
P.S. In October of 2005, I barbell squatted 405 pounds and deadlifted 435 pounds.
I don't know many people with bad backs who can do the same. And, by the way, my
back is still pain free.

Brian Powers uses ART
® for his athletes
Being a speed and strength coach, I am always getting new athletes coming to my
facility with various soft tissue injuries. Knowing that I only have one off-season
to make a significant impact on each athlete's performance, time becomes a critical
variable. This is where ART® and Dr. Hyman come in. It has been my experience that
by immediately sending a client to Dr. Hyman, we can avoid weeks of rehab sessions
and sub-par workouts. This means more quality training time for the athlete.
It always amazes me to see how dramatically an athletes strength and speed performances
improve, even when a small injury has been corrected. ART® is the fastest and most
efficient tool that I know of for getting my athletes training at 100% again. In
short, ART® makes my job much easier. Thanks Dr. Hyman!
